Trinity Church is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, a community of 65,000 Episcopalians in 140 congregations, 40 schools, and 18 major institutions, located in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. The diocese is currently led by its bishop coadjutor, The Rt. Rev. John Harvey Taylor. The administrative and ministry hub is the Cathedral Center of St. Paul, located in the Echo Park district of Los Angeles, about 80 miles south of Santa Barbara. Trinity Church is incorporated as 501 (c) (3) organization and conducts business according to its Articles of Incorporation, Constitution and Bylaws (last amended February 1, 2004) and the Canons of the Diocese of Los Angeles. The Rector is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors (vestry) and the Presiding Officer of the Vestry, as well as chairing the annual meeting held each January, at which time financial statements for the previous year are reviewed, a budget for the upcoming year approved, new vestry members elected, and parish council chairs appointed.
